In October 2005, IMX spun off its uranium assets under the company, Uranex (ASX:UNX). UNX has a current market capitalisation of $150m with wide geographic spread from Australia to Tanzania. Uranex has received encouraging results from its radiometrics surveys, pitting and drill programs from its Tanzania and Australia projects.

IMX holds 33m shares in Uranex , giving it a 34.5% shareholding.
